We are two middle aged women who think we are seventeen still - on a never ending quest for body and mind perfection or even just balance - it’s all or nothing on a daily basis. We will strive to show you whilst proving to ourselves that an element of balance is one path to contentment.
"Gosh, writing a bio… who am I?
Well that question runs too deep for some but for a bright, happy, self deprecating person like myself it is easily answered as I don’t take myself too seriously…
I was born the youngest of four very competitive and in some cases over achieving children to a French Mother and English Father in Essex - it’s not all it seems! Well it wasn’t in the eighties!
After a long stint at boarding school in Cambridge and travels afar followed by University at Edinburgh, the City drew me in, and fifteen years of Emerging Market Bond trading and sales ensued.
As my third child arrived the home life took over and the City was left behind. Number four finished the family and the next decade was filled with running school parents associations and charity events as well as a small property development company on the side when I could fit it in. Then E.L.F. struck and the idea was born and life began to change a little.
I am a doer. My natural answer to any request is yes which is not always a good thing. I have lots of friends, the only criteria for being my friend is that you make me laugh… I laugh a lot! I have always loved hard work and achieving. I was taught at the age of 6 by Mrs Constable my prep school mistress “if a job is worth doing it’s worth doing well” 40 plus years later this is still ringing in my ears!"
"I'm an only child from Birmingham which either makes me interesting or an object of sympathy depending on your outlook! I had a happy childhood with working parents, my major concerns being where I was going out next and more importantly who with! I now call this skill 'networking'.
After grammar school (as famous in Birmingham as the Bull Ring) and 3 years at Liverpool Polyversity, the bright lights of London beckoned and I fell (sometimes quite literally) into the glamorous world of advertising which kept me busy and hungover during my 20s.
Fast forward 30 years and I have a husband, 2 almost grown up daughters, a dog and lines, folds and hair in all the wrong places! I run a music and arts Festival.
I've always been, not quite 'the fat one' but never the skinny or indeed even the thin one and have had an interesting and varied relationship with food and exercise which has crystallised in 'ELF' which is bringing a more positive and joyful aspect to my quest for health and wellbeing nirvana."
